Mission: Yozakura Family Anime Announced April 7 Premiere in Short Trailer

Mission: Yozakura Family anime revealed a short trailer with an April 7, 2024 premiere date. Studio Silver Link is animating the adaptation.

The anime previously revealed character trailers and the first trailer at last year’s Jump Festa event. Fans got a further look at the characters when new visuals of the protagonists Taiyo Asano (played by Reiji Kawashima) and Mutsumi Yozakura (Kaede Hondo) were released last year. The cast also includes:

  • Kyoichiro Yozakura: Katsuyuki Konishi
  • Shinzo Yozakura: Kazuyuki Okitsu
  • Shion Yozakura: Aoi Yuki
  • Goliath: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Kengo Yozakura: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Nanao Yozakura: Yumi Uchiyama

The anime series adapts Hitsuji Gondaira’s Mission: Yozakura Family manga which has been published as Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen since 2019 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The series has published 20 volumes and is licensed in North America by VIZ Media. The series has over 1.5 million copies in circulation.

VIZ Media describes the plot of the manga as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her—and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
