My Hero Academia is an adaptation of the Weekly Shonen Jump manga by Kouhei Horikoshi, which began serialization in 2014 and has 40 tankoubon volumes as of April 2024. Viz Media describes its plot as:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…

Season 1 of the Bones-produced anime began in 2016. Season 6 started in October 2022 and ended in March 2023. The fourth My Hero Academia anime movie, My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next, will arrive in Japanese theaters on August 2.
