Sand Land Game Releases April 26 & New Trailer Featuring Darude’s “Sandstorm”

Bandai Namco Entertainment America has released a new trailer for its upcoming RPG action game Sand Land, based on the late Akira Toriyama’s manga and anime adaptation of the same name. The trailer uses the popular meme Eurodance song “Sandstorm” by Darude

Another trailer spotlighting the Forest Land was also released last March.

The Sand Land game will launch for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC devices via Steam on April 26, 2024 in the U.S. and Europe (April 25 in Japan). A playable demo is now available for the game.

The original manga first debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on May 9, 2000 and ended on August 8, 2000. It ran for a total of 14 chapters and is collected into a single volume.

The anime film adaptation first premiered in Japan on August 18, 2023. It was then released as a new TV series on Disney+ starting March 20, 2024, and will run for a total of 13 episodes. The TV series’ first arc “The Story of the Fiend Prince” retells the story of the film for six episodes, while the second arc “The Story of the Angel Hero” was a new story written by Toriyama before his passing.

Bandai Namco Entertainment describes the game as:

Dive into a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from an extreme water shortage. Play as and watch the Fiend Prince, Beelzebub, Sheriff Rao, and demon Thief set off on an adventure in search of a Legendary Spring hidden in the desert. Introducing himself as a “super evil fiend”, Beelzebub has a pure heart like a little boy but has superhuman strength and telepathic abilities. Rao, a small-town sheriff, seeks the aid of demons to save all of Sand Land from the water shortage. Thief, a wise old demon with thieving abilities also accompanies Beelzebub and Rao on their adventure.

Playing as Beelzebub, players will be able to explore a vast world accompanied by his unlikely group of demons and humans. Whether roaming in various vehicles, or traveling by foot, players will encounter dangers as well as helpful characters they meet in the vast desert while uncovering SAND LAND’s many secrets. Vehicular and character combat is a big part of the action in the game. Players will have access to a variety of vehicles that they can customize and equip with loadouts to traverse the desert, overcome obstacles, and take on a diverse assortment of mighty foes.

The Sand Land video game can be pre-ordered as a Collector’s Bundle on Bandai Namco’s U.S. and European online stores.
