The Equalizer (2021) Season 4 Episode 2 Recap: Full Throttle

The Equalizer Season 4 Episode 2, “Full Throttle,” is an action-packed episode that keeps up the high standard it has become known for. Robyn (Queen Latifah), Dante (Tory Kittles), Mel Mel (Liza Lapira), and Harry (Adam Goldberg) work through personal and professional issues to bring peace to two distinct families.

While Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) puts her romance on hold in order to support her grand-niece, Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes) keeps trying to find out what she wants to do with her life. Harry encounters numerous bot-related problems throughout the episode, which occasionally causes his study to lag.

He is shown trying to fix the system at the bar towards the end, looking very irritated and annoyed. When Mel confronts him about it, he says that the system is meant to support him when he is unable to since he worries constantly about hearing about them going out into danger.


“Full Throttle” opens with three adolescent females being shot for social media while dancing in the middle of a group. One of the people watching throws his ball onto the street after the dance, and it rolls there. One of the dancing girls, Jordan, follows it, and as she leans over to pick it up, she gets struck by a car, which then takes off.

Naturally, Jordan’s mother contacts Robyn to let her know what happened and to seek for her assistance. The mother chooses to pursue the case after Robyn reassures her that she is not to blame for what happened. The mother was blaming herself. She meets with Mel and Harry to begin the process of obtaining information.

Harry discovers pictures of street car racers that were shot prior to Jordan’s collision. Dante and Robyn visit the car business where the other racers have their cars because Dante is back working for the NYPD and his badge has some weight.

While they swear to look after the other racer if they discover him first, they admit they have no idea who he is. Dante removes the two men, giving Robyn opportunity to speak with Christine, who informs her that she is aware of the identity of the other racer. She gives Robyn a picture of him, and it turns into their best lead.

Mel uses his wife as a covert weapon, and she fights him the moment he enters the station, begging that he speak up to save their son. At that point, he admits to stealing a valuable diamond from the government in order to sell it and leave Sudan with his wife and son and begin a new life.

He had hidden the diamond inside Ari’s car’s glove compartment. Ari was abducted by kidnappers who thought he knew where the diamond was.Mel, Dante, and Robyn discover they are outnumbered when they go to the warehouse where Ari is being held.

Dante advises holding off until there is more support, but before they can decide, Johnny’s pal enters brandishing a revolver. He is instantly dead, leaving the three of them to battle it out. Just as Mel is about to get shot, Robyn follows the soldier who abducted Ari, and Dante takes out the assailant first.
