A Glimpse into Vili Fualaau’s Family – Get to Know About Audrey, Georgia and Sophia

With his late ex-wife Mary Kay Letourneau, Vili Fualaau welcomed two of his three daughters. When Letourneau started sexually abusing Vili when he was twelve years old, he was teaching sixth grade.

A month later, Letourneau was arrested after a relative contacted the police in response to his then-husband Steve Letourneau discovering love letters between his wife and her student. She accepted a guilty plea to two charges of raping children and received a sentence of more than seven years in jail.

She was six months along with Audrey Lokelani Fualaau, Vili’s child, when she was taken into custody.

Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau’s turbulent relationship

Georgia, Audrey’s younger sister, was born on October 16, 1998, while Letourneau was incarcerated. Audrey was born on May 23, 1997. After breaking her parole and seeing Vili within a month of her first release from prison, Letourneau became pregnant with Georgia.

Vili and Letourneau got married in 2005 after her release in 2004, but 12 years later, Vili filed for divorce. Letourneau, who was 58 years old, passed away from cancer on July 7, 2020.

After that, Vili moved on, and in May 2022, he welcomed Sophia, his third daughter.

Here is everything you need to know about Vili Fualaau’s children, including their opinions on their parents’ relationship and its history of abuse and information about their personal lives.

When were Kay Letourneau’s children born?

A few days before Vili turned thirteen, Letourneau began abusing him sexually while telling Oprah Winfrey that Vili was “the love of my life.” Letourneau refuted Vili’s assertion that they had intended for her to become pregnant, saying she was “not angry” when she found out.

After Audrey was born in May 1997, her mother entered a guilty plea to two counts of child rape three months later.

Letourneau was given a seven-and-a-half-year prison sentence by the judge overseeing her case, but all but six months of that term could be suspended if she consented to enroll in a sex offender treatment program and take prescription medication for her officially diagnosed bipolar disorder. She was not to communicate with Vili either.

Then, on January 2, 1998, Letourneau was set free. She did, however, inform friends that she had stopped taking the drug. When Vili called Letourneau exactly a month later, the two were discovered in her car the following morning.

She was sentenced to seven years in prison and returned to jail for breaking her parole. But Letourneau became pregnant in the month she was released from prison, and the child was born in a prison in October of that same year. Her name is Georgia.

Vili later revealed in a 20/20 interview with Barbara Walters that he battled depression for a long time, particularly after becoming a parent while still a teenager and not feeling supported.

The couple said to PEOPLE in 2006 that they were attempting to regain custody of their daughters from Vili’s mother, who had custody of them while Letourneau was incarcerated.

It was confirmed by PEOPLE that Vili welcomed Sophia, her third daughter, in November 2022, two years following Letourneau’s passing. Georgia shared the news along with a picture of the hospitalized newborn on Instagram, where PEOPLE were able to view it.

Vili has decided to withhold Sophia’s mother’s identity as well as any other pertinent information.

The children accept their parent’s relationship

In 2018, Audrey, who is 21 years old, and Georgia, who is 19 years old, discussed their experiences growing up with Vili and Letourneau and their relationship during an interview on Australia’s Sunday Night show.

Audrey said, “I think I understand it,” demonstrating her comprehension of their special family dynamic. Many found it surprising. Since we were raised in an environment where it existed, we haven’t been made aware of it.”

The sisters disclosed that Letourneau played the role of the more severe parent when they were growing up; Audrey related an instance in which she had to alter her bra because of Letourneau’s clothing regulations, while Vili took a more lax approach.

Now that she’s old enough to go to bars, Audrey said she thinks of Vili as a “young dad” and calls him a “friend dad.”
