The previously announced Acro Trip anime has revealed its first trailer and visual, as well as details on the main cast. Studio Voil, a new studio represented by former Geno Studio animation producer Takeo Ootaka, is animating the series.
The main cast includes Miku Ito as Chizuko Date, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Chrome, Inori Minase as Berry Blossom/Kaju Noichigo, and Kengo Kawanishi as Mashirou. Ayumu Kotake is directing the series, with Shinichi Inotsume doing the scriptwriting. Toshie Kawamura is doing the character designs, and Ryo Tanaka directing the sound.
Acro Trip manga is written and illustrated by Yone Sawata. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Ribon shojo magazine from February 2017 to December 2022 and is composed of five volumes.
Acro Trip follows the story of Date Chizuko, an otaku girl obsessed with the magical girl Berry Blossom, who protects her city. However, Berry’s enemy–Chroma from the evil organization Fossa Magna–is inept and weak, so no one is interested in their fights. Chizuko then vows to explore the various exploits of the magical girl herself.
Aside from Acro Trip, which is their first work, Studio Voil is also animating the recently announced Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu anime adaptation, which airs in 2025. Voil has also assisted in the Tomo-chan Is A Girl series, though it is unclear what area they assisted in.
