Great Pretender Razbliuto Reveals New Trailer, January NA Theatrical Release Date

TOHO has dropped the first full trailer for Great Pretender razbliuto, the previously announced follow-up to 2020’s heist-themed original anime Great Pretender

The trailer mainly serves to introduce the new series’ cast, which is lead by an amnesic Dorothy (Yuka Komatsu), the former partner and lover of the conman Laurent Thierry who previously appeared in flashbacks and a post-credits scene. The other main characters in razbliuto include:

• Jei (Shunsuke Takeuchi), a high-ranking member of the Taipei underworld’s leading organization.
• Ai (Yasuhiro Mamiya), the self-proclaimed number one swindler in Taipei.
• Lin (Kazuyuki Okitsu), Jei’s ambitious sworn brother.
• Wan (Yasuyuki Kase), the leader of the Taipei underworld. Jei and Lin belong to his organization.
• Sai (Mitsuaki Kanuka), Wan’s right-hand man.
• Bin (Mariya Ise), Wan’s secretary, who was dating Jei until recently.

Some release date details were also revealed. Great Pretender razbliuto‘s North American theatrical screening will take place on January 9 and 10, while streaming in Japan will begin on February 23 (it’s still unclear how much will be shown in theaters, or how many hours’ worth of content the show has in total).

The original Great Pretender first premiered on Netflix Japan in June 2020, and later debuted on Fuji TV’s +Ultra in July. Its worldwide Netflix release came in August.

Great Pretender razbliuto will be streamed by Crunchyroll internationally (excluding China, the Middle East, and North Africa). Manga Production has licensed the show for Middle Eastern and North African countries (namely Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and Sudan). The first 20 minutes of the anime was screened at Anime NYC 2023.
