Murai in Love Will Debut on Disney+ This Fall, Teaser Trailer and More Revealed

A teaser trailer and visual for the Murai in Love anime adaptation have been released along with a bunch of new information, including its Fall 2024 streaming release (it was previously announced that it will be streamed on Disney+).

Yoshinobu Yamakawa (The Duke of Death and His Maid) is directing the series at J.C.STAFF with Susumu Yamakawa (Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san) on series composition and scripts. Ruka Kawada (Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence) is composing the music.

The main cast members are Kengo Takanashi as Murai, Youko Hikasa as Ayano Tanaka, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hitotose.

Murai in Love is based on the KADOKAWA-published manga by Junta Shima, which started serialization on Gene Line in 2018 and released its seventh and final tankoubon volume in 2022. Global Bookwalker describes the premise as:

Murai is madly in love with his teacher, Tanaka.
One day he dares to tell her that he wants to marry her, but of course, her answer was “No.”
Tanaka only loves Hitotose, a ninja boy character in her favorite otome game. But she didn’t know that Murai looks so alike to Hitotose until Murai cuts his hair and dyes it blond.
Now Tanaka must stay calm in front of her BIAS.
Murai finds out about Hitotose, but he wants her to see him as himself, not some ninja boy…
Cute and funny comedy about high-school boys, girls and teachers in Japanese high school!
