A new PV trailer has been released for the upcoming 12th and final episode of Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig. The anime’s season finale is scheduled to air in Japan on February 5, 2024.

Butareba first premiered on October 8, 2023 and is streaming on Crunchyroll outside of Japan. The series entered several production delays, with the ninth episode being pushed back from December 2 to December 9 and the 12th episode being delayed due to scheduling issues.
Masayuki Takahashi (Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon assistant director) is directing the anime series, with Deko Akao (Noragami) as series screenwriter and Susumu Watanabe (Cute Executive Officer) as character designer. Kenichirou Suehiro (Re: Zero) and MAYUKO (Ranking of Kings) are serving as the music composers. Project No.9 is in charge of the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Takuma Sakai and illustrated by Asagi Toosaka. It was first published by Kadokawa’s ASCII Media Works imprint on March 10, 2020 and was awarded the gold prize of the 26th Dengeki Shousetsu Taishou. Eight volumes have been released as of October 2023, with a ninth volume due out on March 8, 2024. The series also inspired a manga adaptation by Minami in 2020.
J-Novel Club releases the Butareba light novels in English digitally, which describes the story as:
A run-of-the-mill otaku collapses from stomach pain after tasting raw pig liver and wakes up in a whole new world—as a pig, of all things! He’s helplessly trapped in his pen until Jess, a girl who can read minds, comes along and rescues him. Our porcine hero will have to work to keep his boar-ish thoughts to himself, but sweet Jess isn’t deterred.
