A new third key visual has been released for the ongoing The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic TV anime series, following the broadcast of the ninth episode “End and Beginning.” The anime first aired in Japan on January 6, 2024.
The visual showcases the climactic encounter on the battlefield between protagonist Usato and the Demon Lord’s Army formidable fighter the Black Knight.
Takahide Ogata (Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori) is directing the anime series, with Shougo Yasukawa (Otaku Elf) as series screenwriter, Kenji Tanabe (Blue Lock co-character designer) as character designer, and Hitoshi Fujima and Seima Kondou as music composer. Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation are working on the series’ animation production.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:

- • Kengo Takanashi as Kazuki
- • Saya Aizawa as Amako
- • Atsuko Tanaka as Rose
The anime is an adaptation of the light novel series written by Kurokata and illustrated by KeG, which was released by Kadokawa’s Media Factory publisher from March 25, 2016 to March 25, 2020. The light novels were published under the MF Books label for a total of 12 physical volumes.
The series originally started as a web novel that debuted on Shousetsuka ni Narou in March 2014. One Peace Books publishes both the light novels and Reki Kugayama‘s 2017 manga adaptation in English.
A sequel light novel series titled The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic Returns began on December 25, 2023. A single physical volume has been released so far, with a second volume due out on March 25, 2024.
Crunchyroll is streaming The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic and describes the synopsis as:
An ordinary walk home from school turns into an epic journey for Usato. After suddenly being dropped into another world with two fellow students, Usato learns he was summoned there by accident. But things turn around when he discovers a unique aptitude for healing magic! Now, he trains beyond human limitations, using his self-healing abilities to gain absurd strength and unrivaled stamina.
