Bridgerton Season 3: Release Date, Cast Changes, Story & Everything We Know

The release date for the third season of Bridgerton, which will finally bring the Bridgerton siblings back to Netflix, was announced several years ago. The story of Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset’s courtship was taken from Julia Quinn’s novel The Duke and I for the first season.

Even though it was so popular with viewers, that was shelved for season 2, which adapts the second Bridgerton novel The Viscount Who Loved Me, concentrating on the antagonistic relationship between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma.

Simon isn’t featured at all in this season, though he is mentioned sporadically. Rather than reimagining Benedict Bridgerton’s tale, An Offer From A Gentleman, for Bridgerton season three, the Netflix series is drastically rearranging the episodes.

Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth Bridgerton novel, will be covered in Bridgerton season 3, although even then, there will be some changes (much like in seasons 1 and 2). Bridgerton season 3 is anticipated to be the largest ever, especially with Queen Charlotte’s storyline progression.

The Latest Bridgerton Season 3 News

The most recent news, as the release date of the new season approaches, is an extended scene from Bridgerton season 3. Rather than the trailer, which is probably on the way, fans have been treated to a scene with the main coupling of the season, Penelope and Colin, getting into a heated argument.

The clip makes it apparent that things won’t always go as planned for them, even though the excitement surrounding their developing romance is one of the highlights of the upcoming season. With the show’s renewal announced for 2021, Bridgerton season 3 is now officially available on Netflix.

Furthermore, the streamer declared that a fourth season would come out. It is hoped that each of the eight Bridgerton books written by author Julia Quinn—one for each sibling—will be turned into a separate TV season. If viewer interest in the series is strong, Netflix will probably keep making it.

Since the upcoming season is divided into two halves, Bridgerton season 3 will have two release dates, in contrast to prior seasons. On May 16th, 2024, the first part will be released, and on June 13th, 2024, the second half. This is probably a calculated strategic move to maintain viewer interest rather than just cancelling all eight episodes at once.

The majority of the Bridgerton family will be among the cast of Bridgerton season 3, and Nicola Coughlan will reprise her role as the season’s main character, Penelope Featherington. Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, will not be back.

Although Dynevor left the door open to make a comeback in a later season, she won’t be present in Bridgerton season 3. Given that their tales appear to have concluded, some of Bridgerton’s second-season cast additions—Rupert Young as Jack Featherington and Calam Young as Theo Sharpe—may be less likely to make a comeback.

For Season 3, there is a significant casting change in Bridgerton. Francesca Bridgerton, the younger sister, is no longer portrayed by Ruby Stokes. Stokes’ recurrent position in Bridgerton clashed with her starring role on Netflix’s Lockwood & Company.

Hannah Dodd, who most recently starred as Sarah Chapman in Enola Holmes 2, also available on Netflix, will take over as Francesca. Actress Hannah New from Black Sails returns to the show as a young widow named Lady Tilley Arnold. Sam Phillips, James Phoon, and Daniel Francis have also joined the program for season three.
