Chris Young Cleared Of All Charges Following Nashville Bar Arrest

Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges stemming from his arrest at a Nashville bar earlier this week.

Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk stated on Friday, “Regarding the Chris Young incident – After a review of all the evidence in this case, the Office of the District Attorney has determined that these charges will be dismissed.”

The 38-year-old country star, Chris Young faced charges of disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest following an alleged altercation at the DawgHouse Saloon on Monday night. Young was taken into custody and subsequently released on bonds of $250 for disorderly conduct, $1,000 for resisting arrest, and $1,250 for assault.

The arrest transpired as Chris Young and his friends reportedly followed Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents from Tin Roof bar to DawgHouse, as per an arrest affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Young engaged with TABC agents checking ABC cards at Tin Roof, recording the interaction. Subsequently, after the agents conducted a compliance check at DawgHouse, Young was accused of reaching out and “striking” one agent on the shoulder. Allegedly, he then began “yelling and screaming,” resisting directions from an agent after being pushed away.

Additionally, a video preceding the arrest emerged, contradicting some details. The footage revealed Chris Young reaching out to the TABC agent, who responded by shoving the musician, causing him to lose balance and fall backward over a table and chair. Subsequently, the singer is observed standing up, raising his hands, and moving away.

Following the video’s release, Chris Young’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, stated, “What happened to my client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was wrong, and he never should have been arrested and charged in the first place. In light of the video evidence, Tennessee ABC needs to drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional, and professional harm done towards my client.”

After Funk’s announcement on Friday, Ramsey released a statement saying, “Mr. Young and I are gratified with the DA’s decision clearing him of the charges and any wrong-doing.”

Chris Young’s upcoming album, “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” is set for release on March 22.
