Kristin Cavallari Opens Up: Why She Decided to Cut Off Her Dad?

In addition to being a multifaceted talent and reality TV star, Kristin Cavallari has advocated for family well-being and personal boundaries in addition to gracing screens with her presence.

Throughout her journey, Cavallari has demonstrated resilience by making difficult choices that are best for her own mental health and, most importantly, her children’s safety.

In a TikTok video that included snippets from her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, Kristin Cavallari stated that her kids come first.

The 36-year-old Laguna Beach native revealed that a few years ago, after her father crossed a personal boundary, she had to make the painful decision to sever her relationship with him.

Cavallari stated that she had never felt good enough in her father’s presence when she was younger and that she only became aware of his narcissistic tendencies as an adult. She described times when he would switch between making fun of her and elevating her, and now she realized that it was all done for his own gain.

Her three children, Saylor, 8, Camden, 11, and Jaxon, 9, whom she shares with her ex-husband Jay Cutler, were the catalyst for her father’s actions. Cavallari clarified that she had to cut ties because the incident had gone too far. Her father threw everything back in her face and shifted the blame on her despite her decision.

Despite having experienced abuse all of her life, Cavallari drew a line with her children, saying, “I can take it, you know.” I’m able to handle the abuse. I have all my life. But I’m not going to put up with it if you start to mistreat my kids.”

What Kristin Cavallari wants for her kids?

Mother of three Kristin Cavallari discussed her thoughts on her children potentially appearing on reality TV in April during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

She said in a playful manner that she would rather not think about taking that route until they were eighteen. “It’s hard enough being in high school and doing everything that you’re doing as a kid, so just focus on that, and we’ll cross that bridge when it comes,” Cavallari said, highlighting the significance of giving her children a normal childhood.
